Let’s Start at the Beginning...
Creativity has always been at the core of who I am. I’ve always been someone who loves to create, experiment, and bring ideas to life — but I’ve also never been afraid to try something new, take a chance, or carve out my own path along the way.
At 21, I was given an opportunity to step into the world of marketing, and I ran with it. I made it my mission to learn everything I could, keep growing, and never stop evolving.
And over the past 14 years, I’ve had the opportunity to experience this industry from just about every angle.
I’ve worked on the big agency side, collaborating across brands and projects. I’ve worked within a large corporation, leading website and SEO efforts for its brands. I’ve managed e-commerce website projects and worked alongside major brands with complex digital needs. I’ve worked with large e-commerce businesses, established companies, and small business owners building something from the ground up.
I’ve been the designer, the strategist, the marketer, the project manager, the problem solver — and probably a few things in between.
And somewhere along the way, all of those experiences shaped what I believed marketing could be.
I saw the power of big-picture strategy and strong systems, but I also saw what could get lost in the process — the personal connection, the creativity, the flexibility, and sometimes even the heart behind the business itself.
I knew there had to be a way to bring the experience and strategy of the agency and corporate worlds to small businesses in a way that felt more personal, approachable, and genuinely useful.
And that idea became Homestead Digital Marketing.
I created Homestead to give small businesses access to experienced creative and strategic support without the impersonal, one-size-fits-all agency experience. A place where you can get thoughtful expertise while still feeling like the person you're working with actually knows your business, cares about your goals, and is invested in what you're building.
Today, Homestead is a founder-led, women-owned boutique marketing studio specializing in branding, website design, and social media. But what we create is only part of what matters to me.
I want you to understand the why behind the work. I want you to feel involved in the process, confident in the decisions we make together, and equipped with something that continues supporting your business long after our project is complete.
That’s why every Homestead project starts with listening. We get to know your business, your audience, your goals, and what makes what you’re building different. From there, we combine creative thinking, years of real-world experience, smart strategy, and honest guidance to create something that genuinely fits.
Because after years of working across nearly every corner of this industry, one thing has stayed true:
Great marketing isn’t about chasing every trend, following someone else’s formula, or doing more just for the sake of doing more.
It’s about knowing who you are, understanding the people you want to reach, and having the confidence to build something that’s truly your own.
Thoughtful marketing. Genuine partnership. Work that feels like you.
That’s what Homestead is all about.
Meet Miranda
The creative behind Homestead.
I’m Miranda Knier, Founder & CEO of Homestead Digital — marketer, lifelong creative, wife, mom, and firm believer that some of the best ideas start with simply being willing to try.
I’m originally from Buffalo, New York — the City of Good Neighbors — but Rochester has been home for the past eight years, and somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with this community. Maybe it’s fitting that both places have shaped me, because connection, community, and supporting the people around me have become such an important part of both my life and the way I run Homestead.
Creativity doesn't end when I close my laptop. If I'm not working, there’s a pretty good chance I’m making something. I love crafting, creating, decorating, dreaming up new ideas, and finding any excuse to start another project. I practice yoga, try my best to squeeze in a workout, and spend most of my time balancing business ownership with being a wife and mom — a role that has shaped me more than anything else.
Building Homestead alongside motherhood has changed the way I think about work, too. It’s made me value balance, flexibility, honesty, and doing things in a way that actually works for real life. I know firsthand that success doesn't have to mean constantly doing more, and I bring that perspective into the relationships I build with my clients.
After more than a decade in marketing, I still genuinely love learning, experimenting, and evolving. I believe the best creative work comes from staying curious, being willing to try something different, and never being afraid to pave your own path.
That’s the energy I bring to Homestead — and to every business I’m lucky enough to be a small part of.
